Christopher Colburn

“I grew up in a family of attorneys giving me the distinct advantage of learning from an early age the power of the law and how the ability of each attorney could shape people’s lives for the better. I was a tireless learner, watching my dad, aunt and both grandfathers navigate the law to effectuate outcomes for their clients. Seeing the effort required to effectively litigate for a client immediately lit my flame to push myself.

I swam throughout my youth and on the Knox College Swim Team and quickly committed myself to getting comfortable in the uncomfortable! Throughout this time I believe my commitment to the team and physical challenge prepared me to continually commit to the hard work required day in and day out in the chase for my next personal best. 

Immediately out of law school, I proudly returned to Knox County and accepted a position to serve as a Public Defender in Knox County for the next four years. My time at the Public Defender’s office gave me extensive courtroom experience, furthered my understanding of the criminal justice system and reinforced my passion for criminal defense. I saw first hand the importance of a good defense and how easy it is to get devoured by the criminal justice system. While with the Public Defender’s office l would often carry several hundred clients at any given time, which taught me time management but often limited how long I could spend with individual files. 

Now with Clark and Glasgow my workload is more focused, satistying my drive to ensure each person receives the best possible defense. With a successful firm backing me up, this has given me the opportunity to channel my passion for defense while giving each and every client the attention that their case deserves.”
